FRG: 2024 Year in Review

2024 has been an incredible year for Fragging Friends (FRG), marking our evolution from a casual gaming community into a thriving UK-based esports organisation with a bold vision and a commitment to inclusivity. Our journey this year has been defined by growth, new opportunities, and significant milestones that have propelled us toward becoming a household name in the EMEA esports scene.

Community Growth: From 200 to 1,000 Members

Our community has grown exponentially, from 200 to over 1,000 active members – a remarkable 5x growth in just 5 months. This growth reflects the welcoming environment we’ve created, where players of all levels can find their place, connect with like-minded individuals, and pursue their passion for Valorant, esports and gaming.

New Branding and Competitive Success

In 2024, we unveiled a new brand identity – complete with a refreshed logo, colour palette, and professional aesthetic that embodies FRG’s growth and ambition. Competing under this banner, our teams debuted in tournaments, including the Lioness Cup and the EVC x The Surge #2 Tournament, showcasing FRG as a rising contender.

Investment and Infrastructure Development

This year, we secured our first external investment from Wang, a pivotal moment in our journey. This funding has allowed us to:

• Expand operations and initiatives to support both competitive and community growth.
• Launch four rosters: Sirens, Elite, Academy, and Empress, each dedicated to fostering talent and competing.
• Introduce professional player contracts, ensuring transparency and fairness as we continue to build a sustainable, competitive ecosystem.

Elevating the Player and Community Experience

2024 saw us deliver new and exciting experiences for our members, including:

• Community Events: From a Minecraft server with over 60 unique players to Valorant Hide and Seek and Crab Game, we’ve provided countless moments of fun and connection.
• Monthly Giveaways: Generating excitement and rewarding our community’s loyalty.
• Our first prize pool tournament, the Festive Finale, featuring 16 teams competing for a £200 prize pool.

Building Our Digital Presence

2024 was the year we established our digital footprint. We launched social media accounts with a focused strategy, achieving impressive engagement across platforms – a TikTok highlight includes Aim Labs commenting on one of our posts. Additionally, we developed and launched our official website, fraggingfriends.com.

The FRG Admin Team

Behind every community is a team of dedicated individuals working to make it all happen. At FRG, our Admin Team has been instrumental in turning our vision into reality. With their commitment, creativity, and leadership, they’ve shaped 2024 into a year of unprecedented growth and achievement.

This year, the Admin Team expanded to 14 members, reflecting our strategic focus on building a solid foundation for both community and competitive success. Every admin has a defined role, ensuring efficiency, collaboration, and accountability. Whether it’s managing events, supporting competitive teams, or engaging with our growing community, each admin plays a vital part in FRG. We also welcomed a Community Intern, highlighting our commitment to nurturing talent and providing opportunities within FRG.

Achieving Competitive Excellence: Developing our teams to compete at the highest level, including participation in the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT).
